Algerian international Youssef Belaili, star of Tunisia’s Espérance, sent a personal message to Tunisian defender Yassine Meriah after the latter announced his retirement from soccer.
Belaili posted a photo on his personal Instagram account showing defender Yassine Meriah alongside international star Kylian Mbappe.
The Algerian international captioned the photo: “I’ll never forget you, my brother… You’re one of the best African defenders.”

The player for Tunisia’s Club Africain and the Tunisian national team was injured two years ago and continued to struggle with the injury until his decision to retire.
The Tunisian defender competed in numerous Africa Cup of Nations tournaments with the “Eagles of Carthage” and also participated in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
The rock of the Tunisian national team’s defense played for several Tunisian, Arab, and European clubs.
