Botswana have announced a 26-man squad for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying double-header against Uganda next month, as the Zebras prepare for two crucial encounters against the Cranes.
The squad features three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders and eight attackers, with players drawn from clubs in Botswana and abroad.
The selection reflects a blend of locally based players and foreign-based professionals who will be expected to help Botswana secure positive results in the two fixtures.
The Zebras will face a stern test against Uganda, who will also be eager to strengthen their position in the race for qualification for the continental tournament.
Zebras Face Important Test Against Uganda
The double-header against Uganda represents an important challenge for Botswana as they pursue their AFCON qualification ambitions.
The two teams will need to balance attacking intent with defensive organisation, knowing that results across both encounters could have a significant impact on their campaign.
Botswana’s coaching staff will now focus on preparing the selected players for the matches, with attention expected to centre on tactical discipline, fitness and team cohesion.
The Zebras will hope their combination of domestic and foreign-based players can deliver the results needed against the Cranes.
