Brighton & Hove Albion have informed Liverpool that they value Gambian winger Yankuba Minteh at £80 million, a figure the Reds are currently unwilling to meet.
Liverpool have already tested Brighton’s resolve with a £60 million offer, which was viewed as a competitive proposal but ultimately rejected by the Seagulls.
Despite their interest in the 22-year-old winger, Liverpool are not currently expected to return with a third bid unless Brighton lower their valuation.
Minteh has emerged as a key target for Liverpool as they assess their attacking options, but Brighton’s £80 million asking price has created a significant gap between the two clubs.
For now, the situation leaves the transfer at a standstill, with Liverpool unwilling to meet Brighton’s current demands and the south-coast club holding firm on their valuation.
Unless Brighton soften their stance, Liverpool are expected to remain patient rather than submit another offer for Minteh.
