CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers: Kawempe Muslim Ladies drawn in Group B

Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC have learnt the teams they will face in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies were placed in Group B during the official draw conducted on Thursday at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda. The Ugandan champions will face Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (Ethiopia) and FC UJECO (Djibouti) in the three-team group.

Group A comprises hosts Rayon Sports (Rwanda), Yei Joint Stars (South Sudan), Mafunzo Queens FC (Zanzibar) and Denden Women FC (Eritrea), while Group C has Simba Queens (Tanzania), Kenya Police Bullets (Kenya) and Top Girls FC (Burundi).

The tournament will be staged in Kigali, Rwanda, from August 21st–31st, 2026, with matches to be played at Kigali Pelé Stadium and the FERWAFA Technical Centre.

This will be Kawempe Muslim Ladies’ second appearance in the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers. On their debut in 2022, the Ugandan side finished third after defeating Tanzania’s Simba Queens 2-0 in the third-place playoff in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The winner of the CECAFA Qualifiers will qualify for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League finals.
