Senegalese side Diambars FC have been eliminated from the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup despite securing a 1-0 victory over Tunisia’s ES Zarzis in the second leg of their first preliminary-round tie.
Diambars needed to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg in Tunisia and started brightly, but their lone goal was not enough to change the outcome of the tie.
The 1-0 victory meant ES Zarzis advanced 3-2 on aggregate, ending Diambars’ continental campaign at the preliminary-round stage. CAF had reported that Zarzis won the first leg 3-1 after coming from behind.
ES Zarzis to Face Real Bamako
ES Zarzis will now advance to the second preliminary round, where they are set to face Real Bamako of Mali.
Real Bamako secured their own progression after a 0-0 draw with Burkina Faso’s Vitesse, advancing 2-1 on aggregate.
For Diambars, attention now turns back to domestic football after their early CAF Confederation Cup exit.
