Nigeria’s representatives in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup have discovered their opponents following the draw for the competition’s first preliminary round.
Ibadan-based Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) have been handed a tough opening fixture against Tunisian side CS Sfaxien, one of the continent’s most experienced clubs in African inter-club competitions.
El Kanemi Warriors, who are also flying Nigeria’s flag in the tournament, will begin their continental campaign against UDIB of Guinea-Bissau.
The first preliminary round will be played over two legs, with the first-leg matches scheduled for September 4 to 6, while the return fixtures will take place between September 11 and 13.
Shooting Stars will be aiming to overcome the challenge posed by CS Sfaxien and progress to the next stage as they seek a successful return to continental football.
El Kanemi Warriors will also be hoping to make the most of their tie against UDIB and secure qualification to the next round of the competition.
The CAF Confederation Cup is Africa’s second-tier club competition, and both Nigerian clubs will be looking to make a strong impression as they chase continental glory and valuable ranking points for Nigerian club football.
