Club Africain have advanced to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League after playing out a 2-2 draw against Djoliba AC.
The result in the second-leg encounter saw Club Africain progress 3-2 on aggregate, having won the first leg 1-0.
Djoliba fought back strongly on home soil and managed to score twice, but Club Africain held their nerve to secure the aggregate victory and book their place in the next stage of Africa’s premier club competition.
The Tunisian side will now face a much tougher challenge in the second preliminary round, where they have been drawn against Congolese giants TP Mazembe.
The meeting with Mazembe promises to be one of the standout ties of the round, with both clubs boasting significant continental experience and ambitions of reaching the CAF Champions League group stage.
Club Africain will need to raise their performance level against the five-time African champions as they continue their quest for a place in the group stage.
