Mouloudia Club d’Alger (MCA) have issued an official statement protesting several refereeing decisions following their 2-0 defeat to Rangers International on Sunday.
The Algerian club expressed dissatisfaction with the penalty awarded to Rangers and the controversial second yellow card shown to Oussama Benhaoua, describing the incidents as major concerns in their assessment of the match.
Beyond the officiating, MCA raised concerns about the treatment of their delegation during the trip, alleging harassment and restrictions on filming. The club also highlighted difficulties encountered by its supporters, particularly regarding ticket prices, which reportedly reached $20.
The statement reflects the club’s broader concerns about the conditions surrounding the fixture, with MCA insisting that they will take steps to defend the rights and interests of both the club and its supporters.
Despite their grievances following the defeat, the Algerian side also appealed for calm and discipline among their fans ahead of the return leg.
MCA urged supporters to remain composed and avoid actions that could undermine the team’s efforts in the decisive encounter as they seek to overturn the two-goal deficit.
With the return fixture approaching, attention will now turn to whether Mouloudia Alger can respond on the pitch while maintaining the discipline and unity the club has called for.
