Carlos Queiroz Names Black Stars Squad for Côte d’Ivoire and Gambia AFCON Qualifiers

Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has named his squad for the Black Stars’ opening fixtures in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with Ghana set to face Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia before concluding the international window with a friendly against Morocco.

The Black Stars will travel to Bouaké to face Côte d’Ivoire on September 24, 2026, before hosting The Gambia in Accra on September 29.

Queiroz has retained several members of the squad that represented Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, defenders Gideon Mensah, Baba Rahman, Jerome Opoku, Kojo Oppong Peprah and Alexander Djiku, and forwards Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo and Jordan Ayew.

The midfield also features Kwasi Sibo, Caleb Yirenkyi, Augustine Boakye, Ronald Donkor and Ibrahim Sulemana, while Christopher Bonsu Baah, Ernest Nuamah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Ibrahim Osman and Prince Adu Kwabena are among the attacking options.

After the two qualifiers, Ghana will travel to Tangier for an international friendly against Morocco on October 4, 2026
