CAS Rejects Al Hilal’s Urgent Request as El Moussaoui Dispute Rolls On

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has dismissed a request from Al Hilal SC for urgent provisional measures in their ongoing case involving RS Berkane and defender Hamza El Moussaoui.

The ruling, however, is strictly procedural and does not determine the merits of the dispute. CAS clarified that the full case remains active, with a final decision expected after a comprehensive review of the evidence and arguments presented by all parties involved.

At the heart of the dispute is Al Hilal’s challenge to the lifting of El Moussaoui’s suspension. The Sudanese club argues that the decision was executed abruptly and without transparent legal justification, effectively allowing the player to participate in key fixtures under questionable circumstances.

Al Hilal has further raised concerns over what it describes as significant irregularities within disciplinary processes under the Confederation of African Football. The club insists that due process was not followed and has signaled its intention to escalate the matter beyond the current proceedings.

With tensions rising, Al Hilal is reportedly prepared to take the issue to both CAF and FIFA if necessary, underscoring the seriousness of the allegations. As the legal battle continues, the outcome could carry broader implications for disciplinary governance and procedural transparency in African football.
