FC Barcelona have encountered fresh travel problems ahead of their Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain. Despite announcing their squad for the European showdown on Monday morning, the Catalan side have yet to reach France after adverse weather conditions disrupted their planned departure.
The Blaugrana have endured a difficult few days on the road. After beating Real Betis 5-2, Hansi Flick’s squad remained stranded in Seville for several hours because poor weather in Catalonia delayed their return flight to Barcelona. The team eventually made it home, only to face another setback before their trip to the French capital.
According to Sport, Barcelona planned to leave El Prat Airport at 10:30 a.m., but unfavourable weather conditions in Paris prevented their plane from taking off.
The delegation now awaits authorisation from the relevant authorities to depart as soon as possible. The delay also puts pressure on the team’s preparations, with their press conference scheduled for 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
