Cherries Stun Man City To Hand Arsenal Premier League Title After 22-Year

Arsenal have officially ended their long wait for a Premier League title after Manchester City were held to a draw away at Bournemouth, a result that seals the championship for Mikel Arteta’s side with one game left to play.

The Gunners now sit four points clear of City heading into the final weekend, meaning they are set to be crowned champions when they visit Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The decisive twist came on the south coast, where Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City failed to find a winner in a tense encounter against a resilient Bournemouth side.

The result is also expected to come during what could be Guardiola’s final days in charge, amid growing speculation over his future at the club. Before kickoff, Guardiola dismissed rumours about his departure, insisting they had no influence on his team’s focus.

However, City struggled to impose themselves against an energetic Bournemouth outfit that extended their impressive unbeaten run to 17 matches.

The home side, backed by a loud and passionate crowd, struck first when teenage forward Junior Kroupi produced a brilliant curling finish just before half-time to put the Cherries ahead.

City pushed for a response after the break, with Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic making a crucial save to deny Nico O’Reilly early in the second half.

Erling Haaland eventually restored parity with a late equaliser, but it was not enough to secure victory.

Despite the draw, Bournemouth’s strong season continues to make history.

Head coach Andoni Iraola, who has confirmed he will leave at the end of the campaign, has guided the club to a remarkable achievement by securing European football qualification for next season.
