Christian Kofane: Arsenal moves for Cameroonian star

At just 19, Christian Kofane is already turning heads in the transfer market, with the Bayer Leverkusen forward reportedly becoming a priority target for Arsenal.

After a strong AFCON debut with Cameroon national team and solid club form, Christian Kofane is attracting attention, with agent Eric Depolo confirming Arsenal’s interest.

“Yes, Arsenal’s interest is real. The coach really likes him… There has been contact between Arsenal and me. But their current priority is to win the league; after that, everything will fall into place,” the agent said.

Among the other interested clubs, British media also mention Chelsea, Newcastle, Everton, Brentford, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich. But Arsenal seems to have the edge in this situation.

“It’s still early, but between the shared language with Arteta and the presence of William Saliba, who is from Cameroon, I’d say Arsenal is in pole position,” says Depolo.

Having arrived last summer from Albacete, Kofane continues to develop.

In 39 matches across all competitions, he has scored seven goals and provided eight assists.
