David Oduro Set to Leave Barça Atlètic as Aston Villa Lead Race for Ghanaian Defender

Ghanaian defender David Oduro is set to leave Barça Atlètic, with Aston Villa currently closest to securing his signature.

The Premier League club are understood to be planning to loan Oduro to French Ligue 2 side FC Annecy as part of the proposed move, while Portuguese club Tondela continue to push for the highly rated left-back.

Tondela have reportedly created space in their squad for Oduro after selling their starting left-back to Latvian side Riga. Fellow Portuguese club Marítimo have also submitted an offer for the Ghanaian.

Oduro has attracted interest from several clubs, with Austrian side Sturm Graz previously making a formal proposal. Barcelona, however, rejected that offer while assessing their options and the player’s future at left-back.

The final details of Oduro’s departure are still being negotiated, but his exit from Barça Atlètic is expected to be completed imminently.

As part of the agreement, Barcelona are set to retain 50 percent of Oduro’s future sale rights, allowing the Catalan club to benefit from any significant increase in the defender’s value after his departure.
