Malian attacker Mahamadou Doumbia provided a rare spark of quality on an otherwise miserable day for Watford, though his second-half strike ultimately did little to alter the course of a crushing 5–1 defeat against Portsmouth.
With Watford already trailing heavily in the 73rd minute, Doumbia showed sharp instincts to connect with a delivery from Amin Nabizada and turn the ball home.
