Egypt to Host CAF Women’s Champions League for Second Consecutive Year

Egypt will host the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League for the second consecutive year, with the continental club competition scheduled to take place from November 1 to 15, 2026.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed Egypt as the host nation for the tournament, which will bring together eight of Africa’s leading women’s football clubs to compete for the continental title.

Six of the eight participating teams have already secured qualification, with defending champions AS FAR of Morocco and two-time winners Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa among the confirmed sides.

The other qualified teams are FUS Rabat of Morocco, Kawempe Muslim of Uganda, Lekié FF of Cameroon and USFAS of Mali.

The remaining two places are yet to be filled, with the representative of the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B) and Egypt’s host nation representative still to be confirmed.

The final qualification spots are expected to complete the line-up for the tournament, which provides a platform for Africa’s top women’s clubs to compete for continental honours.

Defending champions AS FAR will be aiming to retain their title and further strengthen their reputation as one of the leading forces in African women’s club football.

However, they are expected to face strong competition from Mamelodi Sundowns, who have won the tournament twice and will be seeking to reclaim the trophy.

The presence of two Moroccan clubs, AS FAR and FUS Rabat, also adds an interesting dimension to the competition, as both sides will represent their country against some of the continent’s strongest teams.

Kawempe Muslim will carry Uganda’s hopes, while Cameroon’s Lekié FF and Mali’s USFAS will be looking to make their mark on the continental stage.

Hosting the competition for a second successive year gives Egypt another opportunity to showcase its capacity to stage major African women’s football events.

With the tournament scheduled for November 1 to 15, attention will now turn to the completion of the qualification process and the confirmation of the remaining participants.

The 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League is expected to deliver an exciting contest as Africa’s elite women’s clubs battle for the prestigious continental crown.
