Ghana international Ernest Nuamah made a stunning return to form over the weekend, scoring twice to help Olympique Lyonnais secure a commanding 4-0 victory over Rennes.
Nuamah opened the scoring in the 7th minute before doubling Lyon’s advantage in the 30th minute, putting his side firmly in control before the break. His brace marked a significant personal milestone after a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.
The 22-year-old forward was delighted to make his return to action count, emphasizing the importance of contributing to the team’s success.
“It’s very important for me to score, and this team victory is very important. I feel good and I’m happy to help the team. My injury kept me out for a long time, but I’M BACK!” Nuamah said.
His two-goal performance provides a timely boost for both Lyon and the Ghana international, who will be looking to build on the display and regain his consistency following his injury layoff.
Nuamah’s return to scoring form also comes as a positive development for Ghana, with the forward continuing to stake his claim as an important attacking option for the Black Stars.
