The Friedkin Group (TFG), Everton’s American owner, announced on Friday that it is exploring new investment options for the Premier League club, including the potential sale of a majority stake. When the group took control, Everton faced significant financial uncertainty and sporting difficulties.
Since then, TFG has focused on stabilising the club and securing its long-term future, with the completion of the new stadium marking a major milestone for the Toffees and their supporters.
TFG stressed that it would only consider proposals from investors capable of protecting Everton’s future and building on the foundations already established. The group also pledged to continue supporting the club throughout the process, both on the pitch and through its work with local communities. Everton currently sit seventh in the Premier League, and the owners say their commitment to the club’s sporting ambitions remains unchanged. TFG has appointed investment bank Moelis & Company to oversee the process.
In its official statement, TFG explained that it had prioritised stability, investment and the completion of Everton’s long-awaited stadium after taking control of the club. With those foundations now in place, the group believes the time has come to consider the next stage of Everton’s development. However, it has made clear that any potential investor must demonstrate a genuine ability to safeguard the club’s future and sustain its progress. TFG and Everton will make no further comments while discussions continue, leaving supporters awaiting clarification on the club’s ownership and long-term direction.
