FIFA hands Mike Mutyaba and Group global ban

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has extended global suspensions to two former Express FC officials and a player for match-fixing in a 2024 league game against Kitara FC.

Mike Mutyaba (former coach), Emmanuel Kalyowa (goalkeeper) and Miiro Ashraf Mwanje (former CEO) are banned from all football activities worldwide from 12th March 2026.

Mbazira Ashiraf’s case is pending before the FIFA Disciplinary Committee. Other Ugandans with FIFA global suspensions for match-fixing from the 2024 decisions by the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee are:

  • Saleh Maganda (formerly Calvary FC) – 5-year ban
  • Franco Oringa (formerly Northern Gateway) – 5-year ban
  • Godfrey Lwesibawa (formerly Gadaffi FC) – 5-year ban
  • Yahaya Mahad Kakooza (formerly Gadaffi FC) – 5-year ban
  • Andrew Waiswa (formerly Gadaffi FC) – 5-year ban
  • George Nkurunziza (referee) – 10-year ban
  • Deogracious Opio (referee) – 10-year ban
