The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) has officially opened a FIFA Member Association (MA) Elite Referees Course as part of its continued efforts to strengthen football officiating and improve the standard of the game in South Sudan.
The course brings together elite referees from across the country and is being conducted by FIFA-appointed instructors:
Mr. Ali Mohammed Ahmed of Somalia, FIFA Technical Instructor and Laws of the Game expert. Mr. Bento Thomas Navasse of Mozambique, FIFA Fitness Instructor.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, the First Vice President of the South Sudan Football Federation, Mr. Makur Majok Koryom, praised the important role played by elite referees in ensuring fair competition and raising the quality of football in South Sudan. Mr. Makur Majok Koryom serves as the First Vice President of the SSFF.
He encouraged the participating referees to make full use of the technical knowledge, practical guidance and professional experience offered by the instructors throughout the course.
Mr. Makur further urged the referees to remain committed to continuous learning, improve their individual performances and uphold the highest standards of integrity, discipline and professionalism while officiating matches.
The FIFA MA Elite Referees Course forms part of the Federationβs wider programme to build the capacity of local match officials, strengthen refereeing structures and improve the overall standard of football officiating in South Sudan.
