Zambian top assistant FIFA referee Nancy Kasitu will be part of the cast for Group A U-17 FIFA Women World Cup clash between Germany and New Zealand tomorrow (Friday).

Kasitu who has already tasted action after being part of the officiating panel for Group F encounter involving Australia and Chile is deservedly a bright spot for Zambia the ongoing FIFA World Cup where the Copper Princesses are winless in two games.

She will join Josephine Wanjiru from Kenya who will be the centre referee, Tabara Mbodji (Senegal), Fangyu Dong (China) and Mengxiao Bao (Argentina) as second assistant, fourth official and reserve referee respectively.

Kasitu was also part of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women World Cup in the Dominican Republic and also got appointed for the 2025 U-17 AFCON for boys.

Meanwhile a Zambia panel led by Hillary Hambaba will be in charge of the CAF Champions League second leg match between Orlando Pirates and African Stars of Namibia on Friday at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

Hambaba who is the centre referee will be assisted by Trywell Nyirenda (first assistant), Warren Mulenga (second assistant) and Chanshi Kasongo (fourth official).

The appointment of Zambian match officials is a testament of the confidence from CAF and FIFA.
