Kenya progressed after a resilient two-legged contest against their East African rivals. The first leg in Uganda ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Junior Starlets showing great character to come from behind and earn a crucial result away from home.
Back on home soil at Nyayo National Stadium, the Starlets delivered a disciplined performance in front of their supporters, holding Uganda to a goalless draw. The result was enough to see Kenya advance on aggregate and keep their World Cup dream alive.
Coach Mildred Cheche’s side displayed composure, determination, and defensive solidity across both matches, successfully navigating a challenging tie against a familiar opponent.
Attention now turns to the final qualifying round, where the Junior Starlets will face the winner of the ongoing second-round clash between South Africa and Tanzania.
