The Uganda U-20 Women’s National Team, the Queen Cranes, remain in residential camp at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru as preparations continue for the final round of the African Qualifiers for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2026.

The team entered camp on Sunday and has since intensified training sessions with a clear focus on tactical organisation and physical conditioning ahead of the decisive two-legged tie against Ghana.

Central midfielder Dorine Wandera of Amus College WFC expressed confidence within the camp following today’s training session and highlighted the team’s readiness and shared ambition.

‘I am proud to be here. All the players are well prepared and focused. We want to give our best against Ghana and qualify for the World Cup. It is everyone’s dream to play at the World Cup,’ Wandera noted.

She further emphasised the positive and conducive environment in residential camp and pointed to the players’ commitment and work ethic as key factors driving the team’s preparations.

The Queen Cranes will face Ghana in the final qualification round. The first leg will be played between 1st and 3rd May 2026 in Accra while the return leg is scheduled for 9th May 2026 in Kampala. The aggregate winner will qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2026 in Poland.
