The Uganda Premier League Secretariat today announces the fixtures for the opening phase of the 2026/27 season involving the 12 clubs that have fulfilled the requirements to participate in the competition.
The fixtures feature BUL FC, Express FC, Lugazi FC, Kigezi Homeboyz FC, Maroons FC, URA FC, Police FC, Mbarara City FC, Ntugasaze FC, SC Villa, Vipers SC and UPDF FC as they begin their quest for success in the new campaign.
The remaining six clubs will be considered for inclusion upon fulfilling the stadium requirement by the extended submission deadline of 25th August 2026. Clubs that fail to meet this requirement will not be included in the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League fixtures.
Meanwhile, The Uganda Premier League (UPL) Board on Friday convened a meeting with Club Chairpersons to review the 2025/26 season and deliberate on key matters ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The meeting, held at the UPL Secretariat, was chaired by UPL Board Chairman Dr. Arinaitwe Rugyendo and brought together representatives from the league’s member clubs to reflect on the previous season while aligning on priorities for the forthcoming campaign.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Rugyendo thanked the clubs for their continued commitment towards the growth of the Uganda Premier League and acknowledged their role in ensuring the successful completion of the 2025/26 season.
He stressed the importance of maintaining close collaboration between the Board and clubs as preparations for the new season gather momentum. He also thanked the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) for the continous support rendered to the league.
The meeting provided an opportunity to assess the successes, challenges and lessons from the previous campaign, with club representatives sharing their experiences and recommendations aimed at improving league operations, matchday organisation, governance and the overall competition.
Discussions also focused on preparations for the 2026/27 season, including competition management, operational readiness, regulatory compliance and other strategic matters intended to enhance the delivery of the league.
The engagement forms part of the UPL Board’s commitment to continuous consultation with member clubs, recognising that regular dialogue is essential in strengthening governance, improving competition standards and ensuring the sustainable growth of the Uganda Premier League.
Kitara FC, Vipers SC, URA FC, BUL FC, Kataka FC, Maroons FC, Blacks Power FC, Lugazi FC, Express FC, Police FC, Entebbe UPPC FC, SC Villa and Kigezi HomeBoyz FC were represented in the meeting.
FUFA was represented by the Competitions Director Shawn Mubiru and the Professional Leagues Manager Paul Kabaikaramu. The 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season is expected to kick off on 28th August, with clubs continuing their preparations both on and off the pitch.
