GFA Backs Squad Depth as Königsdörffer Earns Praise Ahead of Friendlies

Ghana Football Association Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has moved to allay concerns over injuries in the Ghana national football team camp, insisting the squad remains well-equipped despite the absence of key forwards.

The Black Stars are preparing for upcoming international friendlies without Iñaki Williams and Brandon Thomas Asante, both sidelined through injury. However, Asante Twum expressed confidence in the team’s attacking depth, emphasizing that the technical team has multiple options to call upon.

He singled out Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer for praise after the forward was drafted in from the standby list. Königsdörffer, who plays for Hamburger SV, has been in strong form this season, featuring in 26 matches and scoring three goals.

According to Asante Twum, the forward has already made a positive impression in camp, describing him as “very lively” in training. His performances have reinforced the belief within the GFA that the squad can cope effectively with the absence of established names.

With preparations intensifying, the Black Stars will look to use the friendlies to assess depth and sharpen their squad ahead of future competitive assignments, with Königsdörffer now firmly in contention to make his mark on the international stage.
