GFA working on Black Stars squad ahead of Queiroz’s arrival

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is putting the finishing touches to the Black Stars squad ahead of the arrival of head coach Carlos Queiroz in Ghana.

GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum says the technical team is currently working on the final details of the squad and is expected to announce the players before Queiroz arrives in the country.

“We are working on the fine details. We will announce the squad before Queiroz arrives in Ghana. He has been working since we ended the World Cup,” Asante Twum said.

Queiroz was appointed head coach of the Black Stars following Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is expected to begin the next phase of his tenure with a squad shaped around his plans and requirements.

The Portuguese coach has reportedly remained involved in preparations since the World Cup, with the GFA now working towards completing the squad selection process.

The upcoming announcement will provide the first major indication of the players Queiroz intends to rely on as Ghana begins preparations for the next stage of international competition.
