Ghana’s Black Stars Face Difficult Period

Ghana, once a dominant force in African football, has faced a challenging spell in recent years, exiting the 2021 and 2023 AFCON tournaments at the group stage before missing out on qualification for the 2025 edition.

The struggles have continued in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. After losing to Ivory Coast (2-0), Ghana then fell at home to The Gambia (4-2), despite having led 2-0.

The Ghanaians thus remain without a point after two matchdays.

Amid these difficult circumstances, the friendly match scheduled for October 4 against Morocco in Tangier has been canceled.

Mali will ultimately replace Ghana in the match against the Atlas Lions.
