Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia have welcome striker Paul Okoth to the club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The prolific forward joins the reigning SportPesa League champions following a breakthrough campaign with Ulinzi Stars, where he established himself as one of the most feared strikers in Kenyan football.
Okoth arrives at K’Ogalo after finishing as the league’s second-highest scorer with 18 goals, narrowly missing out on the Golden Boot by a single goal. Paul’s journey to Kenyan football’s biggest club is one built on resilience and determination.
His football development began at Dagoretti High School, where his goalscoring ability first caught the attention of scouts. He would later earn opportunities in the FKF Premier League with Kariobangi Sharks and Sofapaka, but regular playing time proved elusive.
He also had trials with Belgian giants KAA Gent in 2022. Rather than give up, Okoth dropped down to the National Super League with Migori Youth, where he rediscovered his confidence and rebuilt his reputation as a clinical finisher.
His exploits at Migori Youth earned him a move to Ulinzi Stars ahead of the 2025/26 season, and it proved to be the turning point of his career.
Okoth announced himself immediately, scoring on his league debut, scoring the lone goal against Muranga Seal before registering the first hat-trick of the 2025/26 SportPesa League season in a 3-0 win against Posta Rangers. Throughout the campaign, he consistently found the back of the net, finishing with 18 league goals.
Paul’s all-round performances earned him two SportPesa League Player of the Month awards (November and May) as well as a place in the League Team of the Season. His goals were instrumental in helping Ulinzi Stars retain their top-flight status.
Known for his intelligent movement, physical presence and composed finishing inside the penalty area, Okoth now brings his goalscoring instincts to a Gor Mahia side preparing to defend its league crown and return to continental football in the CAF Champions League.
