Gor Mahia suffer trio injury blow ahead of new season

Three key players for Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia have been ruled out for extended periods following a series of injury setbacks.

The most devastating news surrounds Samuel Kapen, who sustained an interior cruciate ligament complete tear during our last match against Garde Republicaine of Djibouti. The winger is expected to be sidelined for anywhere between six months and one year.

Forward Patrick Essombe, who scored a stunning goal against APR and provided a crucial assist in our final group-stage match, has been diagnosed with a torn ligament. He will be out of action for two months.

Adding to the list of injuries, is defender Sylvester Owino who suffered a right calf sprain and will also miss the next two months of action. The triple injury setback leaves technical bench with tough decisions ahead as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

The medical team is now working closely with all three players to ensure they receive the best possible rehabilitation and support during their recovery periods.
