GPL : Ennin happy after Samartex Success over Kotoko

Head coach of Samartex, Christopher Ennin, has expressed confidence in his tactical approach against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, revealing a long-standing belief in his ability to unsettle the Porcupine Warriors—especially on their home turf in Kumasi.

Speaking after his side’s latest encounter, Ennin reflected on his history against Kotoko, recalling a memorable victory during his time with Berekum Chelsea, where his team triumphed despite being reduced to ten men.

“I always enjoy playing against Kotoko in Kumasi,” Ennin stated. “I remember beating them with ten players during my days with Berekum Chelsea.”

The Samartex tactician emphasized that his success against Kotoko is no coincidence, pointing to detailed preparation and a disciplined tactical setup as key factors.

“I know how to frustrate Kotoko and make them play to our rhythm. We forced them to adapt to our strengths, and it led to the goal,” he explained.

Ennin further revealed that meticulous analysis of Kotoko’s style has been central to his strategy, allowing his teams to neutralize their threats and impose control.

“I’ve studied the team closely; for me, it’s all about tactical discipline,” he added.

His remarks underline Samartex’s growing reputation as a well-drilled side capable of competing and outmaneuvering some of the biggest names in Ghanaian football.
