GPL: GFA Charges Asante Kotoko Assistant Coach Diogo Peral Over Alleged Assault on Medeama Player

Asante Kotoko assistant coach Diogo Mendes Gomes Pinto Peral has been charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for an alleged assault on Medeama SC player Ebenezer Adade during their Ghana Premier League encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The GFA confirmed that Peral has been charged with a breach of Article 12(1)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019, following the incident during the match between the two Premier League sides.

According to the charge, the Portuguese coach allegedly assaulted Adade during the fixture, an incident that has prompted disciplinary action from the football governing body.

Peral has been given until Wednesday, November 4, 2026, to respond to the charge and present his defence to the allegations levelled against him.

The case will now be subject to the GFA’s disciplinary process, with any further action dependent on the outcome of the proceedings.

The charge marks another disciplinary matter involving a technical team member in the Ghana Premier League, as the GFA continues to enforce its regulations governing conduct during league matches.

Peral’s response to the allegations is expected before the stipulated deadline.
