Asante Kotoko are bracing for the departure of their first-choice goalkeeper Mohammed Camara, who is set to join Sekhukhune United at the end of the Ghana Premier League season.

The Guinean shot-stopper has reached a pre-contract agreement with the South African Premier Soccer League side, with the move facilitated by his representatives, Pro Sport. Camara is expected to complete the switch as a free agent once his current contract expires.

Camara has been one of the standout performers in the domestic league this campaign, playing a pivotal role in Kotoko’s defensive stability. His consistency between the posts has drawn attention beyond Ghana, ultimately culminating in the move to South Africa.

His impending exit comes on the back of another significant goalkeeping departure, with Fredrick Asare having already sealed a move to Durban City. The Kumasi-based club now faces the prospect of rebuilding its goalkeeping department ahead of the next season.

For Sekhukhune United, Camara’s arrival is viewed as a strategic reinforcement, bringing in a goalkeeper in top form and with proven experience at a competitive level.
