GPL: Kwame Poku Set for Asante Kotoko Exit in Major Squad Overhaul

Asante Kotoko are set to part ways with experienced striker Kwame Poku as the club begins a significant squad restructuring ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 31-year-old forward is expected to be among 10 players leaving the Porcupine Warriors as head coach Eric Tinkler and Director of Football Stanley Menzo reshape the squad in preparation for the new campaign.

Poku rejoined Kotoko in 2025 and made 16 appearances during his return spell, scoring four goals. Despite his contributions, the veteran attacker is now poised to depart as the club embarks on a fresh rebuilding project.

The expected overhaul signals the start of a new era under Tinkler and Menzo, who are determined to strengthen the squad and build a team capable of competing for major honours next season.

An official announcement confirming Poku’s departure, along with the exits of several other players, is anticipated in the coming days as Kotoko press ahead with their plans for the 2026/27 season.
