Medeama Sporting Club have confirmed that their pursuit of Hearts of Oak player Solomon Agbasi has stalled after failing to meet the financial demands set by the player’s camp.
Club president Moses Armah revealed that initial contact had been made to explore a potential transfer, but negotiations quickly hit a roadblock due to the player’s valuation exceeding Medeama’s budget.
“We contacted Solomon Agbasi’s camp regarding a possible move from Hearts of Oak to Medeama Sporting Club, but his asking price was above our budget,” Armah stated.
The development brings an end, at least for now, to speculation linking the talented player with a switch to the Tarkwa-based side. Medeama, known for their measured approach in the transfer market, appear unwilling to stretch beyond their financial limits despite their interest in strengthening the squad.
Agbesi, who was part of Hearts of Oak’s setup last season and now a free player, continues to attract attention within the domestic scene, with his performances marking him out as a player of growing value. His price tag, however, may prove a significant barrier for local suitors.
For Medeama, attention is likely to shift to alternative targets as they look to reinforce ahead of the new season and their continental commitments.
