Ivory Coast move on the cards for Ismael Doukoure

As announced a few days ago, Ismael Doukoure’s decision to represent Ivory Coast is becoming increasingly clear.

The Strasbourg defender visited the Consulate General of Ivory Coast in Paris on Monday, an important step in the administrative process for changing his sporting nationality.

A French international at the youth level up through the U-21s, the 22-year-old could thus represent the Elephants and even contend for a spot on the World Cup roster this summer.

If he finalizes this decision, Doukoure would join several familiar faces on the Ivorian national team, notably Martial Godo and Guela Doue.

He could also join Elye Wahi, who recently opted for Ivory Coast.
