Iwobi Apologizes After Jordan Red Card

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has taken responsibility for his late red card in Nigeria’s 2-2 international friendly draw against Jordan on March 31.

Iwobi was sent off after reacting angrily to being held back by Jordanian player Amer Jamous during the encounter in Turkey.

Speaking in a Podcast , the former Arsenal FC midfielder admitted his actions fell short and offered an apology.

“I need to address what I did and apologise to all my Nigerian teammates, staff, and everyone who cares about Nigeria.

” My actions were not good enough, and I got sent off,” he said.

“But I will learn from this and keep moving on. We got a draw, we did not lose, so we will take the positives.

“I want to apologise for the mistake,” added the Fulham FC star.

The Fulham Stars will return to action  Super Eagles in June when the Super Eagles play against Poland and Portugal in an international friendly.
