Jesús Owono devastated after Jesús de Miguel’s death

Andorra FC goalkeeper Jesús Owono is reportedly struggling to come to terms with the death of CD Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel following their violent collision during Monday’s match. The tragedy has left Spanish football in mourning and prompted tributes from clubs, players and football personalities.

The 30-year-old Tenerife striker suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest after colliding with Owono during the closing stages of the match. Medical teams immediately intervened and rushed him to hospital, but his condition deteriorated overnight.

Following the announcement of his death, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid joined the tributes. Gerard Piqué, former Barcelona defender and owner of Andorra FC, also expressed his sorrow, writing: “I am sorry, from the bottom of my soul. Rest in peace, Jesús.” Meanwhile, Owono has faced criticism over the challenge that caused the collision.

However, reports from Spanish radio station Cadena COPE indicate that the 25-year-old goalkeeper was deeply affected by the incident. According to the outlet, Owono was inconsolable and closely followed De Miguel’s condition after the match. He also reportedly wanted to contact the player’s family privately to express his condolences. Sources within Andorra FC maintain that the goalkeeper never intended to cause harm. Nevertheless, questions remain about the possible consequences of the incident, including potential disciplinary action from football authorities or legal proceedings. For now, the tragedy has left both families and the football community grieving.
