Ghana Black Queens forward Josephine Bonsu has acknowledged the threat posed by Côte d’Ivoire ahead of their crucial World Cup play-off clash, while insisting that Ghana must be more clinical in front of goal.
Bonsu described the Ivorians as “respectable opponents” but believes the Black Queens will need to find the back of the net more frequently if they are to secure victory and move closer to a place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“Côte d’Ivoire have been respectable opponents. We need to score more goals…” Bonsu said ahead of the decisive encounter.
The Black Queens are expected to approach the game with attacking intent as they battle for a World Cup qualification spot.
With the stakes high, Ghana will be looking to combine defensive discipline with greater efficiency in the final third when they face their West African rivals.
