Kenya Police Bullets FC silence Yei Joint Stars to storm Zonal final

Kenya Police Bullets FC have qualified for the final at the 2026 on-going CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Kenyan giants brushed a side Yei Joint Stars FC (South Sudan) 5-0 in the second semi-final match played at the Kigali Pele Stadium on Saturday.

Tereza Obunyu gave the Kenyan Women champions the lead after 10 minutes after the Yei Joint Stars defenders failed to clear their lines.

Yei Joint Stars captain Sumaya Malili Taban Noah had a chance, but shot wide. The Yei Joint Stars team tried to fight back, but Martha Amunyolete Emedot made it 2-0 after 34 minutes with a well timed header to beat goalkeeper Nawal Isaac Henry Majok.

After recess the Kenya Police Bullets FC team returned strongly and run rings around the Yei Joint Stars with high intensity. Lorna Nyabuto scored to make it 3-0 for Kenya Police Bullets, before Emedot scored her second goal of the day from a penalty. Substitute Rebecca Akinyi Okwaro netted the 5th goal from close range as the Kenyan side cruised to a 5-0 win.

“We are very happy getting to the final after winning all our matches,” said Kenya Police Bullets coach David Bujego Rangon after the match. The Kenyan side will now face Kawempe Muslim Ladies from Uganda in the final on August 31st to decide which team represents the region in the CAf African Women’s Champions League finals 2026.

Kenya Police kick started their campaign with a 2-1 win against 2022 winners Simba Queens (Tanzania) in Group C. They followed it up with a 3-1 victory against Burundi’s Top Girls Academy to advance to the semi-final stage.
