Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo is closing in on a lucrative move to Libyan side Al-Swehly after his proposed transfer to Turkey fell through.
The 28-year-old is currently a free agent following his departure from Spanish club Real Oviedo and has emerged as a major target for Al-Swehly, who have tabled a reported $10 million contract over two years.
Sibo has travelled to Egypt for talks as negotiations over the move gather pace. The proposed deal would see the Ghanaian midfielder earn $5 million per year, underlining the scale of Al-Swehly’s financial commitment to securing his signature.
On a monthly basis, Sibo would earn approximately $416,666.67, while his weekly earnings would be around $96,153.85. His daily income under the contract would amount to roughly $13,698.63.
The midfielder had initially been expected to continue his career in Turkey, but the proposed move failed to materialise, opening the door for Al-Swehly to make their approach.
Should the talks end successfully, Sibo’s move would rank among the most financially significant transfers involving a Ghanaian player in recent times, as he prepares to embark on a new chapter following his spell with Real Oviedo.
