Luis Enrique explains the sidelining of Ibrahim Mbaye

Revealed and launched two seasons ago by Luis Enrique, the very young Ibrahim Mbaye has disappeared from the Parisian hierarchy. Since his return from the AFCON 2025, the 18-year-old winger has only played 190 minutes in 2026.

The question of his future began to seriously arise, while several Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, Brighton , are considering recruiting the PSG striker next summer. Ahead of the match against Nantes, Luis Enrique returned to his player’s situation.

“That’s just what I’m saying. Every minute you get to play at PSG has to be special. I have no regrets about Mbaye, but you have to be ready. He was ready, but I expect a lot more from all the players. It’s simply competition, a player must stay out of the team. You have to make the most of every minute,” he explained.
