Malawi coach Pasuwa Confident Ahead of Zambia Clash

Malawi National Team head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has expressed confidence in his squad ahead of the Flames’ Mukuru Four Nations Tournament semi-final against Zambia at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Botswana, stating that the team is in good condition.

“The boys are looking good in camp. After a recovery session, the players are prepared for tomorrow’s match,” said Pasuwa.

Speaking after a training session at Council Ground, Pasuwa, however, highlighted a few concerns, with striker Richard Mbulu carrying a knock while Romania-based defender Charles Petro is yet to join the squad.

“We are waiting for the doctor’s confirmation on Mbulu after he picked up a knock, and Charles Petro, who was expected to join the camp today, has been delayed and is yet to arrive,” he said.

The Flames mentor has also emphasized the need for focus and discipline, warning against complacency ahead of the encounter.

“We should not underrate Zambia. That is why we have been preparing the boys both mentally and physically,” he added.

The Four Nations Tournament will run from March 28 to 31 at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium, bringing together Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and hosts Botswana.
