Arsenal claimed the Community Shield with a convincing 3-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday. Mikel Arteta’s side quickly took control of the match, with Riccardo Calafiori opening the scoring in the first minute after a pass from Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Arsenal then doubled their lead through Kai Havertz, who finished after Christos Tzolis flicked on Martin รdegaard’s cross. City struggled to create clear chances, with David Raya denying Erling Haaland before halftime.
Arsenal continued their dominance after the break and added a third goal through รdegaard, with Tzolis again providing the assist. Haaland left the pitch in the 53rd minute, with Omar Marmoush replacing the Norwegian striker.
The Egyptian forward could not change the course of the game as Arsenal comfortably protected their advantage until the final whistle. The Community Shield gives the Gunners another trophy after their league title last season, while both teams will now turn their attention to the return of the Premier League next weekend.
