Mbadi rewards Kenya champions Gor Mahia KSh 3.2m

Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi on today hosted Gor Mahia FC at his Treasury Building office, where he celebrated the club’s historic 22nd league title with a cash boost of KSh 3.2 million – with players getting KSh.2 million, management having KSh1 million and KSh200,000 going to fans.

The CS, a known admirer of the record Kenyan champions, commended the team for their remarkable achievement and rewarded players, management and fans for their collective effort. Beyond the financial gesture, Mbadi pleaded to support the club at any level whenever called upon, reaffirming his commitment to the team’s success both on and off the pitch.

“This is not just a celebration but a promise. I will stand with Gor Mahia whenever my support is needed. The chairman Ambrose Rachier has requested for some support and I will gladly do the best I can in my capacity to offer my bit,” said CS Mbadi.

Leading the delegation, was club chairman Ambrose Rachier, who seized the opportunity to place a special request before the CS. Rachier appealed for further support, especially as the club gears up for continental duties in the CAF Champions League.

“We are grateful for this generous gift and recognition. However, as we prepare to navigate the tough terrain of continental trips, we kindly ask for more backing from you,” Rachier said.

The reigning league champions are set to embark on another CAF Champions League campaign and financial muscle will be critical in their quest to make a mark on the continental stage. The meeting ended on a high note, with both parties expressing optimism about a stronger partnership moving forward.
