Benin international Mohamed Tijani has expressed his excitement ahead of his country’s highly anticipated clash against Argentina, describing the encounter as an opportunity to enjoy the moment and meet his football idol, Lionel Messi.
Tijani revealed that he was delighted to receive the call-up for the fixture, which is expected to be centred around Messi as the Argentina captain prepares for what has been described as a farewell appearance.
“I was called up to play vs. Argentina, Messi’s farewell game. We don’t even have to prepare for this game… We just want to ENJOY. That’s all,” Tijani said.
The Benin player also made it clear that he has one personal mission for the occasion — securing Messi’s iconic Argentina shirt.
“Trust me, I will be taking MESSI’S SHIRT home… I swear on my mother’s life,” Tijani said.
He even revealed how he intends to approach the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner after the match.
“I will approach Messi and tell him: ‘Messi, I love you so much. Give me your shirt’,” he added.
Tijani’s comments underline the excitement surrounding the fixture, with the Benin players set to share the pitch with one of the greatest footballers in history.
“Messi is the BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD,” Tijani concluded.
