José Mourinho believes Yan Diomandé has all the qualities needed to be a regular starter, suggesting the Real Madrid youngster’s limited starts are largely a consequence of the quality of players around him.
Mourinho praised the player’s ability while explaining why he has not yet established himself as a regular starter at the Spanish giants.
“He lacks nothing. If he were in another team with players of lesser ability, he would undoubtedly be a starter playing the full 90 minutes in every match,” Mourinho said.
The comments underline the intense competition for places at Real Madrid, where talented players must compete with some of the world’s leading stars for regular playing time.
