OL: Nuamah shines in his new number 9 role

Ernest Nuamah celebrated his 23rd birthday in style at Groupama Stadium, scoring in the 38th minute to help Olympique Lyonnais secure a 2-0 victory over Angers.

Making his first start as a centre-forward, the Ghanaian forward marked the occasion with an impressive performance.

This positional shift, decided by Paulo Fonseca, allowed him to showcase other facets of his game. Beyond his speed and ability to drive forward, Nuamah demonstrated that he could drop deep and participate in attacking movements through the middle.

His goal brings his total to four in the league, a new personal best in Ligue 1.

The forward now has six goals in all competitions with Lyon. Despite experiencing discomfort in his right hamstring late in the match, his coach was reassuring, attributing it more to fatigue.

For OL, this victory ends a two-game losing streak and propels the team back up to third place in the standings.
