Paul Pogba Becomes Free Agent After Mutually Ending Monaco Contract

Paul Pogba has left AS Monaco after both parties agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent, making the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder a free agent.

The French international joined Monaco with hopes of rebuilding his career and returning to his best level after a difficult period that was disrupted by injuries and a suspension.

However, his time at the Ligue 1 club has now come to an end earlier than expected.

Pogba’s departure means the 33-year-old is now free to negotiate with clubs and decide the next chapter of his career without a transfer fee being required.

The midfielder is already attracting interest from outside Europe, with clubs from Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Saudi Pro League reportedly making approaches in recent weeks.

Those offers could provide Pogba with an opportunity to continue his career in a new environment, although a final decision on his destination is yet to be made.

Pogba remains an experienced figure in world football, having enjoyed highly successful spells with Juventus and Manchester United and played a key role in France’s 2018 FIFA World Cup triumph.

His career has, however, been affected by injuries and off-field difficulties in recent years, making his next move particularly important as he looks to establish consistency and revive his reputation.

With his contract with Monaco now terminated, Pogba is expected to carefully consider his options before committing to his next club.

MLS and Saudi Pro League clubs are understood to remain among the potential destinations, while further interest could emerge now that the midfielder is officially available as a free agent.

For Pogba, the immediate priority will be finding a project that offers him regular football and the opportunity to demonstrate that he still has plenty to contribute at the highest level.

His next move is therefore expected to attract significant attention as one of the most decorated midfielders of his generation begins another chapter of his career.
