Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has officially named his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the Black Stars set to represent the nation in the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Portuguese tactician announced a balanced 26-man squad featuring a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents as Ghana prepares for its fifth appearance at football’s biggest stage.
Among the goalkeepers selected are Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati Zigi and Joseph Anang, while the defensive unit includes experienced campaigners Baba Abdul Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu and Abdul Mumin. New faces such as Marvin Senaya, Kojo Oppong and Derrick Luckassen have also earned places in the final squad.
In midfield, deputy captain Thomas Partey headlines the selections alongside Elisha Owusu, Kwasi Sibo, Augustine Boakye and Caleb Yirenkyi. Dynamic attackers Kamaldeen Sulemana and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku have also been listed among the midfield options.
The attacking department features some of Ghana’s most exciting talents, including Antoine Semenyo, Ernest Nuamah, Inaki Williams and captain Jordan Ayew. Christopher Bonsu Baah, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Prince Kwabena Adu complete the forward line as Queiroz looks to combine pace, creativity and goals in the tournament.
Ghana’s World Cup journey will begin on June 17 against Panama at Toronto’s BMO Field before a highly anticipated showdown with England in Boston on June 23. The Black Stars will then conclude their Group Stage campaign against Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
With expectations high across the nation, Queiroz will be hoping his selected squad can guide Ghana beyond the group stage and make a significant impact on the global stage as the Black Stars chase World Cup glory in North America.
