Real Madrid have taken a major step toward signing Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig. According to Sky Germany and Marca, negotiations between the two clubs have advanced significantly, with the transfer fee now expected to reach between €130 million and €140 million.
The Ivorian winger has reportedly chosen Real Madrid despite interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, while both clubs now work to finalize the last details.
The transfer has taken longer than expected because of disagreements among members of Diomandé’s entourage. However, discussions between Real Madrid and Leipzig resumed on Wednesday and produced positive results. Diomandé currently remains in Austria with Leipzig and awaits permission to travel to Madrid for his medical examination and contract signing.
The final fee could make Diomandé the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history while also setting a new record sale for Leipzig. The deal previously appeared closer to €120 million before reports pushed the figure toward €130 million and now potentially €140 million. With negotiations approaching the final stage, Real Madrid could soon complete one of the biggest transfers in the club’s history.
